Meet MAdison!

VP: Social Standards

I chose Delta Gamma because of the big anchor I saw when the doors opened on preference round. When I was 16, in honor of my aunt who was very sick at the time, I got a tattoo which was an anchor on my right ankle. Spring semester of my senior year of high school, my aunt passed away. Not knowing anything about recruitment before she passed she encouraged me to go out of my comfort zone and rush! So, in the Fall of 2021, I went through recruitment, and I had no idea what I was doing but I was just being myself and believing what my aunt wished for me to do. So on preference round, not knowing from the previous rounds, my anxious freshman college girl self was calmed with peace when I saw an anchor because I knew this would be more than a sorority to me.

What's your major?

Kinesiology with hopes to pursue nursing school after I graduate!

If you could live anywhere, where would it be and why?

If I could live anywhere, I would live in Florida! I love to run and I love the beach and the atmosphere and combining the two just makes everything better! Although, Australia would be a cool place to live in!

What is your dream job?

My dream job would be to be a famous country singer and dancer! (I can't do either of those things, but that's the dream aspect, haha!)

What's your favorite television show/series?

Friends! I can quote any episode from any season, I definitely have an addiction problem to the show.

Favorite restaurant in Baton Rouge?

My favorite seafood restaurant in Baton Rouge is  Sammy's Grill or The Chime's. My favorite tex-mex place is Superior on Highland.

What's your favorite DG event?

My favorite DG event is Paint Your Date because it is such a unique event and the overall atmosphere nothing can compare!

What's your favorite part about your position?

My favorite part about being Vp: Social Standards, is getting to know everyone on such a personal level. I love knowing that I am making a difference when someone feels so comfortable with entrusting me with anything and everything they are going through. It is simply a blessing! An added bonus is I get to help plan our big special events!

Best piece of advice for a PM going through recruitment?

The biggest piece of advice I would give to a PNM going through recruitment is to take in the moment and enjoy it. Life is so short, and when four years pass you will wish you could do it all over again. Recruitment is stressful and it seems like life is over at times. Everything happens for a reason, stick with it, the good will come out of anything you put your all into!

If you could pick one word to describe your Delta Gamma sisters, what would it be and why?

One word to describe my Delta Gamma sisters is empathy. Empathy because my sister's of Delta Gamma are always accepting and never fail to brighten your day. The endless love they each share and the passion they have to encourage others and strive to be involved with our philanthropy is truly impactful and encouraging.  One thing they all have in common, is that they all motivate me to be a better me without them knowing!

Favorite social media outlet?

Instagram/instagram reels!

What's one thing you want to do before you graduate?

I want to know I have made an impact on my sisters in Delta Gamma just like they have impacted me. I also would love to pet Mike the Tiger!
