The Gamma Zeta Chapter of Delta Gamma began in 1947 with the pledging of 6 LSU women.

Through the efforts of local alumnae, Gamma Zeta became the 75th chapter of Delta Gamma when the chapter was formally installed on March 20, 1948. The efforts put forth by these women were tremendous. They set the foundation for Delta Gamma to take its current position as one of the largest and most highly respected sororities on the LSU campus.

Since Gamma Zeta’s colonization in 1947, our chapter has grown to one of the 5 largest Delta Gamma Chapters in the country and the 2015 New Member class is the largest in our chapter's history. Delta Gammas at LSU have continued to strive for excellence in all that we do. We were proud to once again win the 2017 Outstanding Sisterhood Award at the LSU Order of Omega Ceremony. Our members hold officer positions in Panhellenic, campus and community-wide organizations such as: Student Government, Saintsations, LSU Cheerleading, LSU Track and Field, Panhellenic Council, Greek Board of Directors, Young Life, and honor societies.

  • Chapter GPA: 3.41 & Top New Member GPA

  • Most Outstanding Sisterhood Award in 2014, 2015 and 2017

  • In LSU's Greek Songfest Competition, DG was awarded 1st place in 2016, 2nd place in 2017, and 3rd place in 2018.

Philanthropy

The Delta Gamma Foundation fosters lifetime enrichment for members, promotes Service for Sight, and partners with the Fraternity to ensure the future of our sisterhood.

"Service for Sight is amazing because it was started by a Delta Gamma. DGs are truly passionate about it, excited about the hands-on work and willing to help whoever is in need! We make personal connections with those we serve, and they touch our lives more than we could ever touch theirs. Our philanthropy is about service, putting others before ourselves and seeing the value in all people." -- Emily Watkins, former vp: Foundation

Recruitment

We are excited to welcome new members to Delta Gamma!

Why Delta Gamma?

Consistent with our Founders' thoughts over 135 years ago, our primary purpose is to create an environment for our members in which lasting friendships can be formed. We encourage an atmosphere among college women which fosters high ideals of friendship, promotes their educational and cultural interests, creates in them a true sense of social responsibility and develops in them the best qualities of character.

Every member is unique and yet we all share a single bond of friendship through Delta Gamma.

DG is more than just a collegiate experience; it is a lifetime of commitment, support and opportunity awaiting you!
