Every time I walked through the doors, I felt at home. I never felt like I had to changed who I was, but encouraged to be my true self. Best piece of advice for a PM going through recruitment?

During recruitment, take every conversation one at a time and slow down! It is so easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of emotions this week brings. Remember that this is for you. Go where you feel loved and seen, and look for how the women around you can support and uplift you to be the best version of yourself.

If you could pick one word to describe your Delta Gamma sisters, what would it be and why?

Excited- In DG, every woman around you is genuinely excited- excited to encourage and celebrate your accomplishments, excited to see you at the house, passing on campus. or around town. No matter where you are or what you are doing, a sister is always there, excited to see you, talk with you, and support you with so much love.

VP: Social Standards

Going through recruitment, my goal was to find a home, not based on a house, but on the people inside it. From the very beginning, Delta Gamma felt genuine. Every conversation was natural and meaningful, and it was clear the women truly cared about one another and the values they shared. DG stood out to me as a place where I could grow as a leader, feel supported in every season of life, and be surrounded by women who uplift one another while also holding each other accountable.

If you could live anywhere, where would it be and why?

To me, where you live doesn’t matter as long as you’re with the people you love; because home isn’t a place, it’s your people. I also love traveling and i hope to see as much of the world as I can that way, making memories wherever life takes me.

What is your dream job?

Physician assistant

What's your favorite television show/series?

Grey’s Anatomy

Favorite restaurant in Baton Rouge?

The Chimes!!!!!!!

What's your favorite DG event?

Best piece of advice for a PM going through recruitment?

Be yourself and trust your feelings. Recruitment can be overwhelming, but the chapter where you most comfortable, heard, and confident being yourself is where you truly belong. Go into the week with an open mind, and trust that you will find the place that feels like home.

If you could pick one word to describe your Delta Gamma sisters, what would it be and why?

Supportive- No matter what season of life you’re in, DG women are always there to lift each other up/ Whether it is celebrating successes, offering encouragement during challenges, or simply being a constant source of kindness and understanding, my sisters show up in the most genuine and meaningful ways.

ABIGAIL Prince

Meet Abigail!

VP: Programming

I chose Delta Gamma because the moment I walked through those doors, I instantly felt at home. From the very beginning, I fell in love with everything DG had to offer- the energy, the values. and most importantly, the people. During rush, I met my best friend, and now sister, and talking with her made everything click. She helped me realize that this was a place where I could truly be myself and grow into the person I wanted to become. Now, three years later, I did on that first day. Beinga part of DG has helped me grow in more ways than I ever expected, and it has shaped me both personally and socially. The sisterhood, support, and memories I have gained mean more to me than I can put into words. I will always cherish my time here, and I truly don’t think I would be who I am today without DG.

What's your major?

Somewhere out the country, such as Europe. I just recently traveled there and fell in love. The architecture, the history, food quality all amazed me.

What is your dream job?

What's your favorite television show/series?

PYD!!

Best piece of advice for a PM going through recruitment?

I would tell them that everything happens for a reason, and I truly beleieve that. Going through rush can feel overwhelming, and some decisions or outcomes might mot make sense in the moment. But I promise that once you find the place where you truly belong-whether that’s in a soroity or somewhere else- you will just know. You will feel comfortable, complete, and at peace. Looking back, there were times when I didn’t understand why I was dropped by certain houses or why I didn’t feel comfortable in others. Now, I can see that those moments happened for a reason because they ultimately led me to the place I now call home. The most important thing is to stay true to yourself and not let other people influence or pressure your decisions. Trusts your instincts and your journey- everything works out the way it is supposed to.

If you could pick one word to describe your Delta Gamma sisters, what would it be?

Genuine- That word came up so many times throughout rush because it perfectly described the kind of friendships I was hoping to find. Now, looking back 3 years later, I can confidently say I made the right choice. Through DG, I have met my very best friends, and every one of them embodies that same genuineness I was searching for.

I chose Delta Gamma because of the genuine connections I saw between the girls in the chapter! I remember seeing how members interacted with each other and how they truly loved and cared about one another. I knew that if I were to join Delta Gamma I would become connected within the sisterhood and make new bonds of my own. Since then, that idea has proven true so many times! Best piece of advice for a PM going through recruitment?

My biggest piece of advice would be to go into this experience with an open mind!! It is so easy to feel overwhelmed about recruitment and try to come up with a “plan” before it even starts, but going into every party with a clear slate makes all the difference! You get to make so many new connections with so many amazing Panhellenic women and learn about our community all week. Regardless of where you may go, you will have the support of countless new friends cheering you on through the whole experience. Enjoy every moment, just be yourself, and trust the process knowing you will end up right where you are meant to be!!

If you could pick one word to describe your Delta Gamma sisters, what would it be and why?

Motivating: I can always count on my sisters around me to push me to be the best version of myself! Whether it be joining me to study for a big test or encouraging me to try for a new leadership role, I am constantly surrounded by support! I can confidently say the sisterhood I have gained through DG has become one of the things I am most grateful for in my life!

Best piece of advice for a PM going through recruitment?

My advice for a PNM would be to stay confident in who you are throughout the process and never feel pressured to change yourself to fit a certain mold. Go into each conversation trusting yourself and being genuine, because the right chapter will appreciate you exactly as you are. Pay attention to where you feel most comfortable, because that usually says more than anything else.

If you could pick one word to describe your Delta Gamma sisters, what would it be and why?

Compassionate- They truly care about each other and are always willing to listen, help, and support one another. Their kindness is real and heartfelt, creating a chapter where girls feel seen and valued.  It’s this compassion that makes being part of DG so meaningful.

You will hear things that truly resonate with you, follow that! You all bring something incredibly special to the recruitment process so choose a house that highlights your individuality and will help you grow in the aspects of life that are most important to you! Letter from the President

Hi!

Welcome to Delta Gamma Gamma Zeta! My name is Helena Byerman, and I am honored to serve as the 2026 Chapter President. I am from League City, Texas, just south of Houston, and if you had asked me a few years ago where I would end up for college, LSU probably would not have been my answer. Choosing LSU was a last minute decision that came with a lot of uncertainty, but it quickly became one of the greatest blessings in my life. I arrived in Louisiana knowing almost nothing about the state, yet I immediately fell in love with the culture, the people, and the sense of pride that makes this community so special.

I am currently majoring in Psychology and hope to earn my PhD after graduation so that I can provide trauma informed therapy to children facing life altering circumstances. My passion for helping others has only grown during my time at LSU, and much of that is because of the women who surround me every day. Delta Gamma has introduced me to some of the most compassionate, driven, and genuine people I have ever met. They challenge me to be better, support me through difficult moments, and celebrate every success right alongside me.

When I joined Delta Gamma, I was looking for friendship and a sense of belonging. What I found was so much more. I found women who know me at my best and at my worst and love me through both. I found people who make Baton Rouge feel like home, even when home is hundreds of miles away. Some of my favorite college memories have been made within these walls, and some of my most important life lessons have come from the sisters standing beside me.

What inspires me most about Delta Gamma is our commitment to Doing Good. Every day, I am reminded that leadership is about serving others, showing up for your community, and making a positive impact wherever you can. The women of Gamma Zeta embody that spirit in everything they do, and it is a privilege to learn from them and lead alongside them.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities, friendships, and memories that Delta Gamma and LSU have given me. Serving as Chapter President is an honor that I will never take for granted, and I cannot wait to see all that our chapter accomplishes in the years ahead. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Gamma Zeta. We are so excited to share our sisterhood with you.

Geaux DG and Geaux Tigers!
